MetaScapes created a groundbreaking demo of a 3D interactive digital twin of London’s Heathrow Airport, designed to showcase the powerful capabilities of real-time visualization and simulation technology in large-scale infrastructure environments.
Although not commissioned by the airport itself, this demo was developed to demonstrate what’s possible when high-fidelity 3D modeling is combined with live data integration and interactive design. The goal was to illustrate how airport operators and stakeholders could leverage a digital twin to monitor terminal activity, track logistics, visualize passenger flows, and simulate operations across the entire facility.
The Heathrow digital twin demo included detailed exterior modeling and an immersive, user-friendly interface, providing a glimpse into how this technology can support smarter planning, predictive maintenance, and more efficient facility management.
